MAWU does marketing work on your behalf, so you should know exactly where the lines are. This page covers what needs your sign-off, what we keep and where, what our AI specialists can and can't do, and who to talk to. The legal detail is in our privacy notice and terms.
1. You approve what matters
MAWU works in proposals. Each planned piece of work, whether a post, a page change, an email or an ad, lands in your approval feed with the reason behind it. It stays there until a member of your workspace approves or rejects it. Members of your workspace approve each proposal and every budget. Nothing in the feed is published, sent or paid for while it waits.
Each proposal can be approved once. Clicking approve twice can't publish the same post twice or spend the same budget twice.
Paid campaigns need a budget. An ad campaign is only created with the budget written on the proposal you approved, and a proposal with no budget can't start one.
Posts you schedule yourself go out at the time you picked. That schedule is your instruction.
2. What our AI specialists can and can't do
They can
Draft plans, copy, images and video for your brands. Check your website the way a search engine would. Ask AI assistants your customers' questions to see whether your brand comes up. Suggest the next steps. Publish to accounts you have connected, once you approve.
They can't
Publish, send or spend without an approval. Act on an account you haven't connected. See another workspace's brands, campaigns or results. The chat assistant in your workspace can draft ideas, ad copy and campaign plans, but it has no way to publish or spend.
Numbers
Results come only from channels that have actually reported. If a channel isn't connected, MAWU says so rather than estimating. If a piece of work fails, you see that it failed, and the credits held for it go back to your balance.
3. What we keep and where
Your account: name, email, company and sign-in details. Passwords are stored in a one-way scrambled form that we cannot read back.
Your workspace: brands, goals, audiences, briefs, campaigns, proposals and the assets MAWU makes for you.
Connected accounts: the access a social or ad account grants us is encrypted before it is stored.
Usage and billing: the work done, credits used, your plan and invoices.
Where it lives: on our own servers, run for us by a hosting provider in its data centre in France, in the European Union. Generated images and video are stored on those same servers. When MAWU drafts something, the brief is sent to the AI services described in our privacy notice, which also explains international transfers.
Getting there: the site and the app only load over an encrypted connection.
Keeping workspaces apart: every request for a brand, campaign or proposal is checked against your workspace membership before anything is returned.
4. How long we keep it
Account and workspace data: for the life of your account, plus 30 days. Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires. Security logs: up to one year. To delete your workspace and data, email us at privacy@mawudoesit.com and we'll do it within 30 days, unless the law or an open dispute requires us to keep something.
